MANILA, Philippines - Management of a "bargain mall" in the busy Divisoria district in Manila may find itself in hot water after a shopper claimed being bitten by a giant rat inside the establishment.
Radio dzBB reported early Friday the shopper, initially identified as Annabelle Eugenio, said the rat bit her while she was shopping inside the Tutuban Mall in Divisoria.
Eugenio claimed the force of the bite was such that she let go of her infant son, who was one year and eight months hold.
She asked the mall's management to explain why rats could abound in their establishment, and to help defray the costs of her medical treatment.
